What does it look like to work with me?
SAMPLE SESSION
I start with a free sample session. This is time for us to get to know each other. If you’re new to coaching, I’ll explain what it is, what it isn’t, and how it’s different from things like consulting or therapy. I’ll share how I like to coach and ask questions about what you’re hoping to get out of your coaching experience. Expectation setting is really important: there are things I’d expect from you as a client, and things you should expect from me too. If it feels like a fit, we’ll schedule our first official session — discovery!
SESSION #1 (AKA “DiSCOVERY” SESSION)
Once we’re officially working together, you’ll fill out a discovery form, and then we’ll meet for our discovery session. The purpose of this session is to dive deep into your goals and and what your life at work looks like today—the fulfilling parts, the challenging parts, the things you want more of, the things you want less of. I’ll try to get a sense of the things you value and what your vision for your future looks like.
SESSION #2 and beyond
Our sessions can be linear, but they don’t have to be! Coaching emphasizes being in the moment, which means that we might discuss the same topic each week, or find ourselves digging into something new. I’m an action-oriented coach, so in between sessions, I’ll ask you to commit to behaviors that bring you closer to where you want to be. I also love feedback, and will ask you for it constantly.
